Warranty

Last Updated: January 15, 2026

Valley Forge Memorials (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides memorials, engraving, repairs, and related services. Because we offer multiple types of services, warranty coverage may fall under one or more applicable categories depending on the specific work performed.

We reserve the right to modify these warranty terms from time to time. Any revised terms apply to work performed after their effective date. Prior versions of warranty terms may be reviewed on our website.

Granite Memorials

We warrant granite memorials against structural defects, including cracking, splitting, or material failure resulting from defects in the stone itself that render it unusable for memorial purposes, for a period of fifty (50) years from the date of recorded installation. Some exclusions apply.

Marble Memorials

We warrant marble memorials against structural defects, including cracking, splitting, or material failure resulting from defects in the stone itself that render it unusable for memorial purposes, for a period of five (5) years from the date of recorded installation. Some exclusions apply.

Bronze Plaque Memorials

We warrant bronze plaques against structural defects, including cracking, splitting, or material failure resulting from defects in the plaque itself that render it unusable for memorial purposes, for a period of fifty (50) years from the date of recorded installation. Some exclusions apply.

Craftsmanship and Installation

We warrant our workmanship and installation against defects for a period of twenty (20) years from the date of installation. This warranty applies only to issues directly caused by improper setting, foundation, or assembly performed by us. Some exclusions apply.

Lettering and Engraving

We warrant that all lettering and engraving will be completed in accordance with the final approved proof. Minor variations in depth, spacing, alignment, or appearance are inherent to hand and machine engraving and do not constitute defects. Some exclusions apply.

Engraving on Existing Memorials

For engraving performed on memorials not originally manufactured by us, we will make reasonable efforts to match the existing lettering style, size, depth, and appearance. Exact matching cannot be guaranteed due to differences in stone age, finish, weathering, original workmanship, tooling methods, and material composition. Variations resulting from these factors do not constitute defects and are not subject to warranty coverage. Some exclusions apply.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal weathering, aging, or patina development

  • Natural characteristics such as color variation, veining, inclusions, or minor surface changes inherent to stone

  • Damage caused by ground movement, settling, frost, flooding, tree roots, or acts of nature

  • Damage caused by cemetery equipment, cemetery maintenance, vandalism, or other third parties

  • Staining, biological growth, or discoloration caused by environmental conditions

  • Cleaning, maintenance, or repairs performed by anyone other than us

  • Bronze oxidation, patina changes, or surface wear

  • Resetting or leveling due to cemetery or soil conditions beyond our control

  • Changes in appearance, including fading, discoloration, peeling, weathering, deterioration, or loss of lithochrome or applied color

  • Services, materials, or foundations provided or installed by third parties, including cemetery foundations, resets, or repairs not performed by us

  • Visibility, contrast, or legibility of lettering on marble memorials

Remedy

If a covered defect is confirmed within the applicable warranty period, we will, at our sole discretion, repair or replace the defective portion of the memorial. This shall be the sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty. Labor, removal, reinstallation, cemetery fees, and related costs may apply unless otherwise stated.

Limitation of Liability

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and their heirs and is not transferable. To the fullest extent permitted by Pennsylvania law, we shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages. This warranty is limited strictly to repair or replacement. No refunds, reimbursements, credits, or monetary compensation are available under this warranty.

Warranty Claims

All warranty claims must be submitted in writing and include proof of purchase and photographs of the claimed issue. Claims must be reported within a reasonable time after discovery of the issue. Any inspection, repair, or replacement performed under this warranty does not extend, renew, or restart the original warranty period. Coverage remains in effect only for the remainder of the original warranty term, measured from the original date of installation.
